Meet Miss Mahoney

I am so happy to be your child's teacher this year! I love teaching and I know your child will love to come to school each day, just as much as I do.

I grew up in Monroe, New York, about 50 miles outside of New York City. I went to college at SUNY Cortland where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education. I earned my Master's degree in Literacy (Birth through Grade 12) from Mercy College.

I am new to Seattle, and am so happy to be a part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary community! I love and value education, something I hope to pass on to your child. I have previously taught first grade at Monroe Woodbury Central School District, as well as fourth and fifth grade special education for the New York City Department of Education.

My other interests other than teaching, includes anything that involves the great outdoors! When I am inside, my biggest hobby is reading. I love to read new books, as well as reread ones that I already have.

I am so excited to be a part of your child's first experience at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary. I am looking forward to the many adventures we will be sharing together in Kindergarten!
